So now that I am the mom of a baby that makes his own schedule, I realize that I have a resounding lack of planning. There are lots of times during the day that I could be lifting free weights, or planning out a menu of lighter fare foods, but I simply don't have the ability to make these everyday plans. Since Baby E doesn't have a set schedule (but is starting to loosely follow a pattern), I shouldn't really be having a hard time with this.
So I am trying to make up a loose menu for next week when I start Weight Watchers, so that I can grab a quick healthy snack, without thinking for 4 hours about how to turn rice, ketchup and noodles into a healthy snack (currently what I have in the pantry). So far I am thinking about cantaloupe and pears for quick fruit snacks, and snap peas for a quick veggie snack. These are easy to feed baby as well. I have to stop making heavy fattening meals for supper, and this is where M fails me. He often "helps out" by buying an artery clogging Meat Pie from a bakery on Main street, or buys Lasagna from M&M meat shops. I guess I'll have to learn to eat a large salad and have lots of veggies on the side for days like that.
